Sin Sentido Films is a production house that develops and produces Mexican films, national and international co productions, as well as it offers production services for foreign films. Sin Sentido Films is constituted by a solid society between the producers Rafael Cuervo and Alejandra Cardenas, backed up by their experience in small, medium, and large Mexican and foreign productions, such as Frida, Arráncame la Vida, Solo Quiero Caminar, Babel, Troy, The Hunting Party, Not Forgotten, Jarhead, Elysium among others.
Since its creation, in 2009, Sin Sentido Films has produced and co produced five feature films, and has given production services to important TV series.
Richness of Internal Space (Winner of the Audience Award, and Best Male Actor Award in the International Film Festival of Guadalajara 2012) Stared by Kuno Becker (Gol) and Ana Serradilla, the film tells the true story of a Mexican architect that has been kidnapped, and how he survives to the experience. Produced in 2009, it will be premiering next month.
El Mariachi Gringo(Winner of Best Feature Film Award, and Best Female Actor Award in the International Film Festival of Guadalajara 2012) It is the second feature film produced by Sin Sentido Films, and the first film produced by Sin Sentido Films showed on theatres. This film tells the story of a young man from Kansas who travels all the way to Guadalajara, Mexico to become a musician in/part of a Mariachi band.
Simultaneously to these productions, in 2010 and 2011 Sin Sentido Films was the line producer for the successful TV series Heroes del Norte, and the film by David Rikker The Girl.
Between 2011 and 2012 Sin Sentido co produced The Flight of the Butterflies with SK Films (Canada), producers of "A Bugs Life!", a film for IMAX 3D documenting the wonderful Monarch Butterfly migration from Canada to Michoacan, Mexico. This film had its international launch in the Smithsonian Museum, Washington, in September 2012 and the Papalote Museo del Niño, in October 2012 in Mexico.
This company's latest production, Get Married If You Can in co-production with actress Martha Higareda and Videocine, This is a film that generated about $ 168 million mexican pesos at the box office, standing as the third highest grossing film in the history of Mexican cinema.
Currently they are about to start filming "Living" a co-production with Spain, directed by Chema de la Peña, starring Marisa Paredes, Daniel Gimenez Cacho, Martha Higareda, Tenoch Huerta, Tiare Scanda and Rafael Inclan. They also are 'In Development" of the films Queen Bee, Spectros y otros Trapos Sucios, La Casa de las Sombras, and several television series.
